Terms And Conditions
Duration
All rooms are rented for 50 weeks starting from the last Monday of August.
Deposit
A deposit of €1,000 is required for each room. The above-mentioned deposit is retained until the expiration of the contract and until the delivery of the studio. On the day of the return of the studio, an Administration Officer will inspect the studio in order to determine that it is returned in the same condition in which it was received on the day of the move in.
Costs of repairing any damages to the studio and its equipment and/or furnishings (beyond fair wear and tear), will be deducted from the deposit.
Eligibility
Only students registered with Frederick University are eligible to apply.
Vehicle Policy
Bringing or charging scooters in interior spaces is not allowed. Students who own cars and wish to secure parking must state it on the application form. Dedicated parking space is available at €120 for the duration of stay.
Inspection
Inspection rights are granted once a term to ensure the expected condition of the room.
Reservation Process
- If you are an active student at the University or have applied and completed the application process, you can apply for a reservation for the next academic year through the online application system available on the website.
- Provide the following details in your online application:
- Student number or Personal ID number (student’s)
- Full Name
- Preferred Type of room
- Contact details (email, telephone number)
- Within two (2) working days, an officer from the accommodation office will contact you to inform you if a reservation is possible and for which specific room. To complete the reservation, you must additionally provide the following information. The Accommodation Officer will assist you in this:
- Copy of ID/passport
- Name of Guarantor and copy of guarantor’s ID/Passport
- Copy of utility bill under the guarantor’s name to prove the guarantor’s home address
- Transfer of funds for deposit
- Upon arrival, an Accommodation Officer will escort you to the Halls and demonstrate the facilities. You will also need to sign the contract together with the payment of the first installment.
Check-In and Check-Out
Upon receiving the studio, the student, in the presence of an Accommodation Officer, inspects the room and checks the available equipment / appliances, signing a relevant Check-In Form with a record of the available equipment/amenities. The signed Check-In Form is returned to the Accommodations Officer, in order to receive their studio’s card/entry code.
During check-out, the Administration Officer will inspect, in the presence of the student, the condition of the Studio and its equipment, ensuring they are in suitable condition, considering reasonable wear and tear. In cases where unjustified damages and impairments to the Studio and equipment are identified, the University retains the right to withhold a reasonable amount from the provided security deposit as compensation.
Termination of Stay by the University
The University retains the right to cancel or terminate the Accommodation Contract prematurely in the case where a student resident:
- Is not an active student of the University and/or is not enrolled in semester courses as confirmed by the University's Studies and Student Welfare Service.
- Has departed from or been expelled from the University.
- Is not consistent with their financial obligations regarding accommodation.
- Does not comply with the terms of the agreement and the Rules of Stay
Early Termination of Stay by the Student
The student has the right to terminate the rental agreement without any consequence in case they depart from the University or participate in a student exchange program (e.g. ERASMUS). In this case, the student must provide the Administration Office with at least 15 days' notice and return the keys/card and the Studio on the day of departure. However, there are no refunds for early move-outs as the booking term is fixed for 50 weeks starting from the last Monday of August.
